THE SUPER SEVEN - SEVEN UNDERCARD FIGHTS TO GET EXCITED FOR BEFORE THE END OF 2026
As is usually the case in boxing, the main event is usually the showcase fight of the night, and rightly so. But with the quality and depth of cards seemingly getting better with every show, there are usually some absolute gems on undercards, and with the schedule for the end of 2026 filling up nicely, we’ve picked out SEVEN undercard fights to get your beady boxing eyes excited for.
Constantin Ursu vs Ben Vaughan - British & Commonwealth Welterweight Titles: Itauma vs Hrgovic - 29th August
On what could potentially be a historic night for British boxing, where heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma COULD become the second-youngest heavyweight champion in history after Mike Tyson, one fight on the undercard has caught our eye.
Discovered by Top Tier’s Johnny Clark, Constantin Ursu has taken the domestic welterweight scene by storm. Born at the turn of the millennium in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau, he moved to 15-0 last time out when claiming the British and Commonwealth titles with a near punch-perfect performance against Owen Cooper.
Here, though, the tricky southpaw comes up against the dangerous ex-paratrooper Ben Vaughan. At 12-2, both of his defeats have come by majority decision in fights he could quite easily have been declared the winner in.
He’s as game as they come, and he’ll take the fight to Ursu from the first bell. It’s a fight that the reigning champion can’t afford to take his eye off the ball in, and it’ll certainly be a fight-of-the-night contender for however long it lasts.
Vito Mielnicki Jr vs Ammo Williams: Ruiz vs Knyba card - 4th September
A trip across the pond now for a cracking all-American middleweight showdown between Vito Mielnicki Jr and Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams.
Currently on an impressive 15-fight win streak, Mielnicki Jr was recently snapped up by Matchroom, and he’s thrown straight into a cracking 50/50 against former world title challenger Williams.
Mielnicki Jr is currently ranked in the top 10 of all four sanctioning bodies, whilst Williams is ranked in the top 10 in both the WBC & WBO, so whoever wins here will undoubtedly be catapulted into world title contention.
Southpaw vs orthodox, the two styles do have the potential to clash, but these are two young men with a heck of a lot to prove, so expect this to be an absolute dogfight.
Paddy Donovan vs Tyrone McKenna: Taylor vs Pili card - 5th September
A fight which very much got made out of the blue, it’s Southern Ireland vs Northern Ireland as Paddy Donovan clashes with one of Belfast’s most loved sons in Tyrone McKenna.
Two fighters whose careers are very much at opposite ends of the spectrum, it quite literally is a guaranteed war, as pretty much every Tyrone McKenna fight is.
Five of his last seven fights have ended in a stoppage, and despite three of those ending in defeat for McKenna, they’ve certainly been box-office worthy.
Donovan comes into the fight off the back of arguably the best victory of his career after he bounced back from back-to-back defeats with an exquisite show of boxing skill and class to outpoint Karen Chukhadzhian on away soil.
He’s gone two and a half years without a stoppage victory, and with another world title shot potentially looming, he’ll no doubt see McKenna as the perfect victim for him to get back to his devastating and spiteful ways.
The fight may heavily favour Donovan on paper, and understandably so, but one thing we do know is someone is getting chinned.
Dave Allen vs Thomas Carty: Taylor vs Pili card - 5th September
A big Irish card isn’t a big Irish card without a good old heavyweight 50/50 clash, and in Dave Allen vs Thomas Carty, we get exactly that.
After defeats to Arslanbek Makhmudov and Filip Hrgovic in the space of seven months, ‘The White Rhino’ has bounced back to winning ways in two four-rounders against two journeymen. Much-needed rounds in the bank for the Doncaster man.
It’s been a crazy couple of years for his Irish opponent, Thomas Carty. After rupturing his ACL in a freak injury on his US debut back in March 2025, he was forced to sit out for pretty much a year before returning with a comfortable points win over German Shobenko on the Dickens vs Cacace card earlier this year.
It was exactly what Carty needed going into what is the biggest fight of his career so far.
Expect Allen to do what he does best and bring the fire from the first bell. It’ll be interesting to see whether Carty decides to go toe-to-toe with him or look to outbox him.
The fight is over 10 rounds, and that’ll most certainly favour Allen, considering he’s fought 10 rounds or more on six occasions compared to Carty, who has never boxed for longer than eight rounds in a single fight, and he’s only done that once.
It’ll be an interesting watch, with a potential big fight in line for the winner.
Jade Jones vs Sheena Bathory - Misfits Super-Middleweight Title: Jordan McCann vs Big Stacks card - 12th September
Think what you want of the main event and all the hype around it, but on the undercard are two legit female boxers who can and probably will eventually hold their own as professionals.
Two-time Olympic taekwondo gold medallist Jade Jones has been a revelation since turning her hand to boxing. 2-0 with two second-round knockouts, she’s trained by former two-time world title challenger and one quarter of the iconic Smith brothers, Stephen, up in Liverpool.
Her taekwondo expertise has transitioned well to boxing, with immaculate footwork and speed, and with her seemingly starting to sit down on her shots more, the power is really starting to transition over nicely.
In Sheena Bathory, she faces a natural-born athlete.
As a youngster, she excelled in both judo and freestyle wrestling, then of late she’s turned her hand to MMA, slap fighting and now boxing.
She made an impressive Misfits Boxing debut last time out when obliterating Tina Snow, and thrown right in at the deep end against Jones in just her second fight, she’ll be looking to make a claim as being the best influencer boxer on the planet.
The thing with this fight is that both fighters have genuine power and genuine technical ability. If it ends up being a chess match, then it’ll be a good watch, but if it ends up being a shootout, then it’ll be an even better watch.
Do not blink.
Joe Howarth vs Josh Holmes: Hedges vs Brown card - 19th September
On a STACKED domestic card which sees two of the biggest prospects in British boxing put their undefeated records on the line for British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight honours, there’s a right little cracker of a lightweight banger on the undercard.
Dave Allen’s 15-2 protégé Joe Howarth will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when he faces off with Joe Gallagher’s 18-0 Josh Holmes.
Despite having two defeats on his record, Howarth’s losses have come to undefeated opposition, with his last loss coming at the hands of the highly rated Giorgio Visioli in a hard-fought performance which saw him become the first man to take Visioli the 10-round distance.
Holmes, meanwhile, is arguably one of the best-kept secrets in British boxing.
He’s been working away on the small-hall shows up north, and after picking up the English title at super-feather, he decided to step back up to lightweight.
Following a points victory over established journeyman Cesar Paredes, he stopped the talented Alex Murphy inside a round DESPITE being hurt badly in what was one of the rounds of 2026 so far.
Both fighters’ form and their CVs make for a really interesting contest here.
Holmes, on paper, carries the power advantage, but despite having boxed one less fight, Howarth has boxed more rounds than his fellow Lancastrian.
If Holmes has fallen in love with his power off the back of his first-round stoppage of Murphy, he could really make a statement against Howarth. Howarth has shown, though, that he’s got the brains and ability to compete at this level against the very best in the country, so it’s really hard to split them.
David Mundell vs Jack Cullen - BKFC World Middleweight Title: Till vs Romero card - 26th September
The final fight that we’ve picked out is, believe it or not, a world title fight, but this time, it’s in the ungloved phenomenon that is bare-knuckle boxing.
Here we have two fighters from quite literally two different backgrounds.
10-5 as an MMA fighter, David Mundell returned to combat sports after a six-year layoff by turning his hand to bare-knuckle boxing.
Since then, he’s picked up 10 wins from his 12 fights in the sport and become BKFC World Middleweight champ in the process. Not bad, hey.
On September 26th, he comes up against a man many of you will be a lot more familiar with, former British & Commonwealth Super-Middleweight champion Jack Cullen.
After suffering back-to-back defeats to Zak Chelli and Luka Plantic in the space of four months at the start of 2024, ‘The Meat Cleaver From Little Lever’, as he is known by many, made an emphatic BKFC debut in early 2025 when stopping Jakub Kosicki inside a round.
He followed that up with a second-round KO of the tough Marley Churcher in March, and that form has earned him a crack at world honours in just his third fight.
It’ll be a tough ask for Cullen against the much more experienced Mundell, but if he can use his size advantage, then he’s got enough about him to walk Mundell onto something massive and claim a highlight-reel KO.
Mundell will be all over him like a rash from the first bell and will look to outhustle and outwork Cullen in every area of the fight, so when a fighter has that sort of attitude, it sets up an absolute cracker.
